Attorney Klaneski brings a deeply personal perspective to her practice. With twenty years of lived transgender experience, including her own name change in 2002 and a public transition over fifteen years ago, she is profoundly aware of the nuances involved in navigating the world as a transgender individual. Attorney Klaneski authored The Letter F: The Process of Civilly Changing Sex in 2009, a book documenting the challenges faced by transgender individuals in obtaining identity documents that reflect their true selves.
A graduate of Trinity College with a degree in Women, Gender, and Sexuality and a Master’s in Public Policy Analysis, she earned her J.D. from Western New England University School of Law in 2024. During her time there, she initiated the Gender Affirming Identification Project to assist residents of Western Massachusetts with obtaining accurate identity documentation. Currently, she serves as a staff attorney at the Center for Social Justice at WNE School of Law.
